God wants you to be healthy!

Jeremiah 30:17- “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds, says the Lord.”

Luke 13:6-9- “Then Jesus told this story: “A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed. Finally, he said to his gardener, ‘I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.’

“The gardener answered, ‘Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down.”

What we’ve learned thus far.

  1.  Bad Time
  2. Judgement
  3. Enters the Advocate Jesus
  4. Wait, stop judging.  No growth happens when we judge.
  5. Dig around it and find the truth.
  6. Add fertilizer, that’s God’s grace
  7. Give it time.  It’s more than just one meeting.

James 1:2-4- “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

What are some speed bumps that slow you down?

If our shock absorbers are broken it courses a lot of turbulence.

We feel the effects of what is unresolved.  Then we medicate or we stick back to give a sense of power.

Many times we go through things and it triggers something.  You were designed to soar.  You were designed to live without judgement.

Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed, when was the last time you felt that way?

THERE ARE FOUR SHOCK ABSORBERS ON A CAR THAT HELP WHEN GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS.  TONIGHT WE’LL TALK ABOUT ONE.

RELATIONAL CONNECTION

Philippians 2:13- “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power fo do what pleases him.”

God has a very predictable construction project going on with your life.  Building you as a person.

YOU HAVE A JOB DESCRIPTION.

You’ve got to learn how to connect, to bond.  You’ve got to trust!  You’ve got to be vulnerable, you’ve got to open up.

A baby that is fed and watered but not connected, bonded with a mother, grows up with something called “failure to thrive.”

They were fed and watered, but not loved!

God did not create us to be self-sustaining!  “It’s not good for man to be alone!”

Psalm 22:9- “Yet you brought me safely from my mother’s womb and led me to trust you at my mother’s breast.”

The infant internalizes moms love and grows to trust others through this human connection.

We must become vulnerable and receive!

When the trust switch is broken the power switch is gone off!

John 17:21- “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

Jesus was praying that we as humans, those belonging to Him, would be ONE as they were one.  Love one another, trust one another!

Our first job description as humans is to learn to trust!

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10- “But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another. Indeed, you already show your love for all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you to love them even more.”

Paul is saying we should seek to GROW in our love and trust!

We’re talking about healthy RELATIONAL CONNECTION!  We’re talking about opening up our lives and becoming vulnerable to one another!

2 Corinthians 6:11-13- “Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you. There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us. I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!”

If you’re involved in anything spiritual that doesn’t involve vulnerability it ain’t spiritual, it’s pharisaical.

All spiritual growth comes through CONNECTION!

But Ken I was connecting and vulnerable and open and trusting UNTIL I was abused!

Some people have even had trauma bonding!  You needed the bonding so bad that you bonded with the ab abuser who offered relief when you needed it most but also offered abuse.

It’s abuse and love coming from the same person!

We need to connect with those who give us hope when we need hope.  That give us courage when we need courage.

It’s called the internalization of love.

A baby can be alone in a room, but they’re not alone!

HOW’S YOUR TRUST MUSCLE WORKING TODAY?  ARE YOU PLACING YOURSELF IN TE SETTINGS FOR YOU TO OPEN UP.  REVEALING YOUR HURTS AND INVESTING IN OTHERS?

If you say you can’t trust others then you need to go to another planet because that’s the best this earth has to offer.

YOU’VE GOT TO CATCH THIS FOLLOWING VERSE

2 Corinthians 7:6- “But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us by the arrival of Titus.”

We have “cross” relationships.

Vertical with God and horizontal with people.

1 John 4:20-21- “If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.”

(TPT)- “Anyone can say, “I love God,” yet have hatred toward another believer. This makes him a phony, because if you don’t love a brother or sister, whom you can see, how can you truly love God, whom you can’t see? For he has given us this command: whoever loves God must also demonstrate love to others.”

We are made to be IN HIM and IN HIS FAMILY!

When you begin to do that you will see incredible growth begin to happen!
